Eating Disorder Treatment in Virginia

If you need flexible care and want holistic treatment, which includes both therapy and medication management for co-occurring conditions, our providers can help. Treating eating disorders can be difficult – we’re surrounded by food all the time and need to eat to fuel our bodies. Whether you’re struggling with restriction, purging, or binging, we can help.

Outpatient Care

We provide outpatient care, which is ideal for those in the early stages of recovery after completing a PHP or IOP program. If you have never received treatment for your eating disorder, we’ll work with you to make sure you’re safe and will recommend more intensive services if appropriate. Our goal is to keep you safe and support your recovery, so may also recommend working in tandem with a therapist or a dietician, depending on where you are in your recovery journey.

Medication Management

Eating Disorders commonly co-occur with PTSD, OCD, ADHD, depression and anxiety. Treating the symptoms of these mental health issues in the presence of an eating disorder takes patience and trust between you and your provider. If you need mental health support from a provider who understands how eating disorders impact all aspects of your mental health, and how trauma and neurodivergence impact eating disorders, make an appointment with us.

Psychotherapy

Tabitha offers standalone psychotherapy (and psychotherapy + medication management), and Natalie offers psychotherapy in addition to medication management. Talk therapy doesn’t always help people with disordered eating. Often, body work, including connecting to our physical self, helps ED symptoms. We use somatic work, mindfulness, and values-based work to help you cope with ED impulses and behaviors. We don’t believe there is any one single solution for our clients – everyone is unique and needs individualized care. Whether you’re a college student, busy parent, athlete, dancer, or military service member, you deserve support in your recovery journey.

Our Providers

Both Tabitha and Natalie have experience working with clients with eating disorders, including in partial hospital programs and in outpatient settings.

Healthy at Every Size (HAES)

We are Healthy at Every Size Providers. We do not offer diet counseling or believe that there is one mold all human bodies should fit into. We do offer nutrition counseling as part of our services, which is not the same as diet counseling. Nutrition counseling is centered around ensuring we are giving our bodies the nutrients it needs to function best. If you are working with a registered dietician, we encourage you to share your meal plan with us so we can help support you in meeting your intake goals.
